BIG News!!

Well for those of you who don't know Matthew has a new job. After 9 years with the bank he is moving on! He was just tired of the same old sales, sales, sales!!! He got a really good job working at Free Port. He works at the Morenci mine in the power tower he is a controls operator manager. He has to monitor the power, and water in Morenci and go out and get readings and stuff. He just started this week and is really enjoying it. He gets along with all the guys and he gets to work with one of his best friends Andrew. Another big plus is Andrew's dad is his manager and is in Matt's words "the coolest".He works 7 days in a row 12 hour shifts and then has 7 days off. So far they have let him come home early most days but still pay him for the 12 hours so BONUS!!We are really looking forward to having more time with our dad! One of the biggest changes is he went from shirt and tie to hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots and a vest. (that's him in the pic.) I love seeing him come home from work with some dirt on his pants.

Also our house is FINALLY started!! After a year of planing and jumping hoops we are now officially building. We are very excited and love being able to walk over and see what is being done. They said we could be in our house in 8 months, we will see? We just feel so relived that things are happening.

In other news Matt and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on Monday! We went out to dinner and rented a movie. We wanted to drive to Tucson and do dinner but with the baby so close we decided not to chance it! Can I just say I love my husband and I think he is the best. Aslo I am going to be induced on the 18th. The Dr. said I could have done it the 11th but I want to see if I can go into labor on my own. But if she hasn't come by the 18th I will be induced, babies have a mind of their own :) To sum it all up our life is good, really good (from the movie Nacho). Hope to be posting baby pictures soon!

Maliyas Party

Maliya turned 3! She had a princess tea party (surprise, surprise!!), she invited all her girl cousins over in princess attire and had a feast! The spread included Snow White's Apples, Jasmine's Jellies, Bell's Blueberry Muffins, Cinderella's Cranberry Crumpets, Sleeping Beauty's Scones, Ariel's Sea Tarts and Pink Princess Punch. The girls had so much fun ordering us around telling us when they needed more food or drink (You would not believe how much they ate!! Thanks again Becky for the help). After the food we played "Pin The Crown On The Princess" and the kissing game. Each girl put on lipstick and then was blindfolded. I had a poster filled with pictures of frogs and princes. They had to kiss the poster and see who they kissed.They had a blast with this game. Next it was time for the boys and the rest of the family to come over for gifts and cake! Maliya hit the jackpot this year. She got some really cute clothes, dolls, and tons of princess stuff. We got her a bike and a doll house. The doll house is so cute and we have had so much fun playing in it together, even dad plays with us! (the house is taller then she is). After gifts we had princess cake. I decided to make the cake myself and I think i did a pretty ok job. The roses could have been better but it was my first attempt :) it was alot of work but I had so much fun doing it (Matt was such a big help I would have gone crazy with out him there, sure love you babe!) Maliya really enjoyed her party and afterwards she said "Mom, I love you". After her party Maliya got to have a sleepover at her cousin's house, she thought that was pretty cool. The next day we left for a 4-day family reunion (poor girl didn't get to enjoy her presents for long) we had so much fun up in the mountains. Lucky for us a friend let us use a camp trailer with a bathroom in it! Camping at 7 months pregnant wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was glad we could go and see all the cousins and relax a little. When we got home it was like her birthday all over cuz she got to play with all her new toys! I can't believe she's three now and that we have one on the way in the next month. Life is getting crazy but I love it!

Maliya Moments...

I'm going to start posting funny things Maliya says during the day. Then when I'm having one of those days I can look back and smile :)
* Anytime we are eating together and she finishes first she has to brag that she beat me and she's the WINNER! when I ask what I am she says "slow" or "not the winner"
*Maliya looked at me today and said "Mom you know I Love You right?" 7/1/08
*Today Maliya came in the house from out side upset she said " I was riding my bike and it tipped over. I almost died" 7/10/08
* Maliya was out on the playground with her cousins this morning and she ran in the house screaming. when I asked her what was wrong she said " I broke my nose" It seems she bumped head with another cousin after a minute of hugs and loves she was ready to play again. 7/12/08
*Maliya was bending over to do something and ended up falling flat on her face. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. She glared up at me and furrowed her eyebrows and said "mom don't laugh at me ok it hurts my feelings I'm gonna spank your bum and put you in time out!!" It took alot of restraint to stop laughing! 7/15/07
* I was making my Walmart list the other day and asked Maliya what we needed. She said "I need a new toy" I told her she hadn't been a very good girl that day so we were not going to buy any toys. She looked up at me with the big blue eyes and said " Can I get a boy toy mom? Have I been a good boy today?" 7/18/07
* Maliya has alot of pretend friends. Her latest are Simba and Nala from the Lion King. She asked Matt if he wanted to hold Nala for a little bit she said "don't worry dad she won't poop on you" 7/18/07
*Matt was putting on Maliyas shoes for church and told her how pretty they were. She said "thanks dad they don't fit my two fat sisters" it took a second to realize she was talking about her "step sisters" always pretending to be Cinderella. Later that night we were watching (surprise) Cinderella and we were at the part were they are trying on the glass slipper and she says "mom that slipper won't fit them because it's mine" 7/20/08
*Last night I was coming out of the pantry and there was a cricket on the floor. I let out a short scream and then killed it. I told Maliya I hated bugs. she said " Mom just sweep it in the pantry and then I'll shut the door k" I thought about it... but I had to pick it up and throw it away. 7/20/08
*Maliya was telling me how much she loves her Uncle Spencer. I said it was funny when he picks her up and throws her in the air. She said "it's cuz he thinks I'm a basketball" 7/20/08
*Grammie was helping Maliya go potty and Maliya tells her " when you pee in the potty the pee goes down to see it's family when you flush it." No idea where she got that one? 7/21/08
* This morning Matt gave Maliya her cereal and then went downstairs to get ready. She starts to scream at the top of the lungs that she needs her cartoons on. My mom come out and asks what do you need? She continues to yell about cartoons. Matt runs upstairs and tells her to stop yelling people are still asleep, she looks at him and still yelling says "but it's summertime" it made me mom laugh! 7/28/08
* Today we were swimming and playing Lion King, kitty cats and of course princesses. Maliya asked if I would be the princess and she would be the prince and I agreed. Then she smiles really big and says "when should we kiss and hug?" Look out boys! 7/28/08
* We went to a Family Reunion this past week. While we were in the bathroom Maliya saw an almond on the floor near the potty. She looks up at me and asks "mom who pooped a nut?" 7/31/08

Chicken Little

My dad got some new baby chicks and Maliya is in love! Everyday she wants to go see and pet the chickens, she named this one "mom chicken". Pretty soon they will be to big to hold and I'm not going to go catch a full grown chicken for her to hold. Last Sunday her and her cousin Logan decided to throw random things in the chicken's box including... food storage cans, fake flowers,and random things from the garage. When we found them Maliya had the weed whacker in her hands I'm sure ready to toss in!! The poor chicken were piled on top of each other (24 of them) in the corner trying not to get crushed! We had to explain that chicken don't need toys and if you give them things they could die. She has been doing a lot better!

Daddy's Toe !!

Matt was helping his dad move a water heater on Wednesday and as you can see didn't go so well. When they lifted the box out of the truck it fell and crushed his big toe! We got it checked out and it's not broken just VERY bruised and swollen. Poor guys he is in a lot of pain! He had to go to work the next day in a shirt and tie, dress slacks and flip flops! It was so swollen he couldn't wear a shoe! This picture is two days later and it looks a whole lot better now! Maliya has been very concerned about her dad. She even limps around the house with him. We just keep it iced and elevated and pray that no body bumps it!

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had a great 4th of July!! Our ward had breakfast at 7 with games for the kids. Afterwards there was a bike parade for all the kids! This is Maliya on her bike, she thought it was fun to decorate in red,white and blue (she tried to get pink in there too) Then we went and hit some 4th of July sales at the Home Stores. Came home and played some games together. Later we went to Matt's parents house for a BBQ and came home and watched the fire works from the balcony! Maliya was scared the fireworks would be too loud so she watched them with Grammie on Grammies bed. Maybe next year we can watch them from our house!It was just a really fun/relaxed day and we got to spend it together!! I'm so thankful for our country and our freedoms!!

3 Joys... (1)Matthew, he can make me laugh no matter what my day has been like, I still get all excited inside when he gets home from work! (2)Maliya, just saying her name makes me smile. When she kisses my nose and says love you I know why I always wanted to be a mom! (3) Maddie, I love feeling her movements and knowing she is on her way. I can't wait to see her little face.
